All month, Turner Classic Movies has been hosting Guest Programmer Month. (Graydon Carter's line up was killer. ) But a faithful reader has just let me know that the beloved "Mr. Blandings Builds His Dream House" is on tonight! And the esteemed guest programmer? Martha Stewart!
The film is on at 8:00 EST. Tune in or set your recorder, be it digital or dinosaur. Martha and I can't both be wrong.

How very cool that Martha selected it too.
You know, like any girlfriend, Martha bugs me sometimes, but I've always liked her. I marvel at her. And when someone teases me and calls me "Martha" I know it's not meant as a compliment, but I always take it that way.
Yay! I'm glad I'm staying in tonight :)
Oh good, how fun!
My comcast DVR is already set!
I love this movie.

I saw this movie for the first time last year and loved it! I'll be sure to tune in or get the DVR on it. :D
I have been wanting to see this movie...wish it were coming on in the UK!! Guess I will have to download or buy it!
Can't wait to record it tonight. Luckily the 5 year old is here to push the right buttons. Spent piece of the afternoon catching up with Mrs. Blandings...a lovely start to the weekend.
Rhonda - so sorry! I hate to be rubbing it in.
Mrs.Griswald - adore your moniker. I hope you enjoy the movie, and thank you for the lovely compliment.
Ha! Now I know what I'm doing tonight! Thanks! :)
Oh IM watching it now and it made me think of your blog.
Oh, my. I'm feeling a bit responsible for your Friday night. Hope everyone enjoyed it!
I love this movie so much! I always keep Myra Loy's calm attitude in mind when dealing Cary Grant in regard to high priced house bills...I try and channel that when dealing with my own husband.....'Now dear, you know how much we'll all love a Viking stove, and it will practically pay for itself by what we'll save eating out...'

Linda - I know what you mean. I'm always trying to "remember Myrna" as I'm edging close to fishwife territory. I have to admit, I'm never quite as breezy.
Ack! I am too late for the TV viewing. I will, however, put this movie on my netflix queue immediately. Thanks!
Brilliant - with TCM you are never too late - it will be on again 12/17 at 8EST :)
I'm going to have to find a copy of this in my local video/DVD store...you AND Martha couldn't be wrong!
I watched it and totally thought of you of course! Excellent movie!
A. - I'm so glad - you are the only post-movie review I've gotten! Glad you liked it.
