How funny... i was going to post about this as well. I am president of our local Main Street board, which is a project of the National Trust for Historic Preservation to help keep main streets alive and vital.
Meg - you should! It's a great concept and puts all the things you think you know intuitively right there in front of you. btw - furthering my previous "remarkable woman" comment.
I agree, it will hopefully prevent the takeover of Mainstreet by real estate offices, banks and useless highend jewelery dealers, our mini village center in an upscale Westchester neighborhood has more the 6 jewelers. But not one reasonable shop for anything else...
thank you for alerting us of this organization. i am in the charming river town of geneva, il. i waited 10 years to find a building to buy for my biz., they rarely were for sale. now i could take my pick of dozens.
i plan on getting very involved!
