All I ever really wanted to do was read Dominique Browning and Mayer Rus anyway, and as they have both gone on line I should probably hang up the whole thing.I may reconsider, but in the meantime go catch up on Browning's posts; she's just getting started and it's a wonderful read. Slow Love Life. Here. Thanks to Toad for the heads up.
P.S. I'm completely teasing about closing - sorry about causing any concern.

Close and I'll cry.
WHAT?????????????????????????????
you've got to be teasing.
Do you mean it? am I too jet-lagged ; and I misunderstand?
You mean "hang up the whole thing and stop blogging?"
I worried about this happening.
Why would someone like you ,; and Aesthete, etc. keep giving, giving, giving........and receive nothing except acclaim....and feedback; and fans!
It is so much work.
I wish I could figure out a way for you to make money doing this. And others. I really do.
I am delighted out of my mind that you saw Dawnridge.......I would have given anything to have heard you at the PDC ...........
So glad Schulenberg took such good care of you!

Thanks so much for letting me know what Dominique is doing. She is a brilliant writer and one who's genius with tenderness I miss terribly!
and Mayer is hysterical..I've been around both of them--they could not be more different yet appreciated by the same audience!

Thank you for sharing this wonderful blog. It's charming.
Your links to Rus and Toad do not work.
I will miss your posts.
Say it isn't so.....Oh no, please don't go (my 4 year old son says this to me, and makes me laugh)!
Have a good weekend, and will wait patiently by my inbox for your updates.
Mrs.Blandings,
If you were to surrender, I for one, would come to find
you. You really make my day.
I did enjoy the NY times Article :Losing it: by Dominique Browning which was poignant.
Thanks for the heads up.
Ribbet, ribbet.

Hi Patricia, well your headline threw me a bit, but after reading your post I just had to jump on over to Dominique's place. You're spot on! Thank you for taking the time to tell us about her. Keep well & shine on. xx's Marsha
I discovered your blog just recently and have very much enjoyed it. Thanks for the fun! And for the information on Dominique Browning, whose writing I've always so admired. Good luck with whatever you chose to do next.
I am with Penelope about this.Wish you could make money out of this gig.
After a career in PR in small offices when often I did everything, that you do this for free is amazing. I don't have a blog because it reminds me of too much of work. But you do have my gratitude for doing what you do with great style. I found Slow Love Life through the NYT and thought it is fascinating affects of this economy. Some are gifts of the spirit.
Thanks for the little mini-heart attack. Time off now and again...surely. I won't begrudge you that but each day I wait for one of your precious jewels (an all-time favorite? Reliable Rosie.)
Closing Shop? Never. Thanks to the heads-up on Dominique Browning and Mayer Rus. Two of my very favorites that I have been missing. How was West Week? Posts? I wanted to come, but clients kept me busy.
No! I hope we're all jumping to the wrong conclusion! I'm a longtime lurker who loves receiving your posts by email every morning. You are such a prolific poster--if you cut back and posted only every once in a while, even that would be atreat for me. (So, you know, "do it for me, a stranger"--I guess that's the not very compelling upshot of this comment! But I'm sure I'm not alone.)
You can't! You owe it to the US public to keep us inspired! If you don't do it, then who? Keep up the GREAT work!
I dropped a little note in the mail today, please disregard the second paragraph.
PLEASE do not quit! You have got to be teasing. But I'm ready to beg. You have no idea how much your blog has meant to those of us paralyzed in our pajamas....logged in for hours, and dreaming of another way of life! I'm very happy to be joining you online; finally, some energy! And thank you for the warm welcome. d
Oh thank you~! I love DB! thankn you tons~
no more joking around mrs.b... you've caused quite a stir. and i am about to spend the evening getting caught up on dominique browning, news of her having a blog has made my saturday complete. thanks for sharing!!
I'm just glad I've been away from the computer--painting--for the last two days, because if I had seen this post before you added that disclaimer at the end, I would have freaked. Seriously.
Slowing down the pace a bit we can deal with, as I've told AAL & EEE, and going on hiatus the way HOBAC did last year is OK--as long as it doesn't last too long--but don't even think about closing up shop for good. If you ever decide to go into subscription mode, all you have to do is say the word and I'll be Subscriber Number One. Just stop with the funny stuff.
But thanks for the good news on two of my other favorite people whose voices were stilled for too long. There are never enough smart people to go around, and every one that goes quiet is a loss for all of us. Now, back to work. Tell us about L.A.
Say it ain't so...
no more crying wolf. It isn't nice. It hurt my feelings.
Penny
I am new here, and I am excited.
Ah - I'm too hooked to quit. What would I do with myself? Thanks for letting me know you care.
And, Dominique, as Toad said, I'll probably lose scads of readers to you, but I'm still thrilled that you are here.
I read your post on the weekend and I was too scared to comment as I thought - is there some other meaning in this post which I am not catching?!! So I can comment now and say - THANK GOODNESS FOR THAT!

Dearest Mrs. Blandings,
It is good every now and again to test the fates and the loyalties of those who love you. I, for one, simply couldn't imagine the blogosphere without you.
As for Dominique Browning's Slow Love Life, I was so overcome with emotion in discovering her, I have been literally frozen in place in trying to craft an appropriate post of my own. Thank you for alerting everyone else to her remarkable writings. All I've managed to do, thus far, is order the book and recommend that my local library stock it.
EA - I felt the same when I got Toad's email. Totally had the wind knocked out of me. He knew me well enough to know that I would NOT want to wait until I returned from LA to hear the news. I made the first pass on my miserable phone and was still delighted.
