The entire Blandings family is giddy over our new Thomas O'Brien towels from Target. A stack that stretched from my fingertips to my chin has replaced remnants of sets that edged perilously close to being "vintage" and in no way "modern." ("Really? These are for us?" "They are so white." Further testament to my housekeeping.)
Also hearing the beat of the Tom-Tom, design editors at several of the national shelter magazines have highlighted O'Brien's Caliope Cocktail Ottoman for Hickory Chair as a top pick. (It is available with either tufted or marble top.)

The final days of Aero's summer clearance sale are this weekend. Even out-of-towners can check the list below and ring them up to make purchases. (Just click the image to enlarge.)
Can't get enough? Me, either. Don't miss O'Brien's collaboration with Donna Stockton-Hicks in October's Veranda.
Sophisticated design is no folly and if I can't lounge here with my new book and coffee, I will dissect these images in my own kitchen until the entire project is published.

Such beautiful images, and that cocktail ottoman is gorgeous!! I'll have one with tufting, please...

Have anice evening.

I also have Thomas O'Brien towels from Target (mine have jaunty blue stripes at the bottom) - for the price they are shockingly thick, soft and super absorbent. And I can relate to the "they are so white" comment.
Thomas is my very favorite - he is so Clark Kent. I just put his Hallings Secretary in my living room. love love. Maybe now I need towels..... thanks for the tip!
I LOVE the TOB bath towels from target (actually I LOVE anything Thomas O'brien)
I have found that they work better if you avoid fabric softener.
So sad I missed the Aero Sale. I always get amazing deals which means I buy twice as much. haha
I can just picture you lounging wrapped in one of those fresh white towels with your new book and a coffee and a magnifying glass!
That last image is sumptuous.

Thomas O'Brien crosses all boundaries. The garden room is wonderful--are we seeing a return to traditional with a twist? Thanks, Mary
Who doesn't want a hunk of something O'Brien? I've been searching local second hand shops for milk glass hobnail cups like the ones in his bath in American Modern.
I purchased a messload of those towels and gave to our daughter and son-in-law. Thirsty!
Digs - I love the Clark Kent comparison. He is, in fact, very mild mannered.
Adore Thomas O'Brian and I may have to replace my assortment of almost worn towels of different colors!!

I got some TOB towels from Target too and I wonder if something is wrong with mine. They are nice and fluffy and white but the issue is they shed white fuzz. I've washed them several times and the problem hasn't gone away. I dread getting white fuzz all over myself when I dry off.
Hmmmmm...
I think O'Brien is on Target with the towels. We've had them for several years. I buy only white. My beloved has yet to learn that a towel is different from a rag. Sorry to tell you some times you just can't take the boy out of man and that is why the goddess invented bleach.
Hate to mention this since I went rather over the top at Peak of Chic the other day in defense of going over the top with window treatments, I find that unlined (so it appears) fabric shade looking swell.
LOVE LOVE LOVE the towels! I only use those HOWEVER don't use bleach - it states that on the tag, but who really reads the tags! I tend to always forget that b/c who doesn't like to bleach the white towels every now & then? MUST.REMEMBER.NEXT.TIME. His towels are possibly the best EVER!
TOB does nice sheets as well. Some of the few I've found in gray.
Oh, you make me laugh! In great sympathy... towels are a point of shame for me. It seems like the nice ones I got for my wedding got bleached by my facewash remarkably quickly, but I can't bring myself to replace them when they are otherwise just fine! I did buy a couple of "guest" (unstained) towels for each guest bedroom, but as my guests either come 10 at a time or stay for months, that doesn't last very long. HOWEVER, I find myself suddenly very, very glad that I didn't replace those old yuckers since I'm shortly off to Turkey and can now truthfully say to Hubby, "But we need them!" Ha ha!

Love Aero. Truly a must stop in NYC. Hope you have a great weekend.
Nice inspiring images... I just love fluffy and ultra soft towels.
NY-ers are lucky! I got O'Brien's American Modern a few weeks ago and this one is my favorite by far! What an inspiration. What do you think would happen if he and Steven Gambrel made a design baby? Do you think the genius would just make the room implode?
